A week at the farm

No two days look the same. Campers spend the whole week outdoors, hands dirty, learning how a real Michigan ecosystem fits together.

Meet the animals

Bunnies, guinea pigs, chicks and ducklings up close — plus horses, alpacas, goats, emus, chickens and ducks who call the farm home.

Wade the wetlands

Net turtles and fish in the pond, hunt for bugs, toads, frogs and snakes, and find out what lives under a log.

Play Roxaboxen

Build a whole imaginary town out of sticks and stones, trade with glass gems, and run the shops — a camper favourite every year.

Our story

A working farm that teaches

Turtle Creek Farm sits on ten acres in Waterford Township, home to horses, alpacas, goats, emus, chickens, ducks, reptiles and amphibians — and a pond, a wetland and a stretch of woods that campers get to explore all week long.

Every program is directed by Lucy Clucas, a biologist who has spent decades helping kids look closely at the natural world: netting a turtle, keying out a skull, finding the fossil in an ordinary rock.

The farm is a private working farm and is not open to the public — camp is how families get to experience it.
